Release 1.74.0
Release Date: 2026-10-07
Release Focus: Venue shape controls and recognition, row label styles, event series, embedded draft publishing, and faster editing of large seating charts.
Compatibility changes
- A reference identifies one confirmed booking session per event. A second confirmation with that reference returns
409 REFERENCE_TAKEN. Send a distinct reference for each session or release the confirmed session before reusing it. Issue: SEAT-1245. - Library snapshots with chamfered venue shapes use version 2; older editors decline to paste them. Charts exported with polygon corner data also require the matching editor version. Keep editors aligned when exchanging layouts. Issue: SEAT-1328.
- Sections following a venue shape can change layout when reopened, including diagonal square corners and smoother rounded outlines. Review their seat positions and labels before saving. Existing booking SVGs retain their saved geometry until the chart is saved again. Issues: SEAT-1272, SEAT-1324, SEAT-1325, SEAT-1342.
- Autologin accepts organization accounts only. An account with the super-admin or global-admin role gets HTTP 403 and must sign in to the Editor with its own password; an integration that autologins as such an account needs a regular organization account instead. Issue: SEAT-1427.
- Creating an organization through the management API reuses an existing account with the administrator email, in any letter case, only when it is the only account with that email, belongs to one or more organizations, all owned by your tenant, and holds neither the super-admin nor the global-admin role. A reused account keeps its own password. Otherwise the request answers
409 ACCOUNT_EMAIL_IN_USEand creates nothing; provision that organization with a different email. Issue: SEAT-1428.
New
- Venue shapes support chamfered corners and a Back row dispersion control. Sections can inherit the venue value or use their own value. Issue: SEAT-1328, SEAT-1272.
- Recognize from Seats creates a rounded or chamfered venue shape from eligible sections, with a maximum one-pixel displacement for each converted seat and one undo step. Tables and sections outside the fit remain unchanged. Issue: SEAT-1329.
- Polygon drawing supports curved edges: press, drag, and release to draw an arc; a click creates a straight edge. Changing tools cancels an unfinished drawing. Issue: SEAT-1339.
- Row labels take a color, size, font, and bold weight, set once for the whole map in the Seat Map panel and overridden per section in its own panel. The Booking Renderer keeps the color, size, and weight, and draws Arial, Times New Roman, and Courier New with fonts of the same letter widths; Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet MS, and Georgia use close open-source equivalents that can run slightly narrower or wider. Existing booking backgrounds keep their previous label fonts until the chart is saved again. Automatic section outlines widen on their labelled sides to keep larger labels inside; path-based sections keep their current outline. Issues: SEAT-1389, SEAT-1430.
- The editor profile offers Accessibility → Color-blind friendly, saved in the browser. Issue: SEAT-1372.
- The Event Series API creates published events from a published template, copying its prices, seat assignments, and assignment properties. Integrations can list events and booked seats across a series and filter by booking reference. Confirmed sessions accept private JSON properties and can be released to return inventory. Issue: SEAT-1245.
- Embedded editors accept
draft=trueto preserve a draft on Save. WithhideNavbar=true&draft=true, publishing controls remain available for explicit publication. Existing embedding behavior is retained when the option is omitted. Issue: SEAT-1228. - The editor records an event’s End date. Booking API v1 accepts
endDateand continues to acceptkillAfter;endDatetakes precedence. Recording the date does not archive the event automatically. Issue: SEAT-1251. - The MIT-licensed
@seatmap.pro/editor-clibuilds layouts from JSON and provides a Model Context Protocol server that defaults to read-only operation. MCP builds accept files within the server’s working directory and require an empty target chart, including no existing shapes or labels. Its operator commands cover organizations, library items, schema and venue moves, and image-job status. Pin the CLI version to your editor deployment. Issue: SEAT-1129. - The editor frontend includes the Node runtime for its core worker service, which accepts only calls that editor-service signs with its key. Custom deployments use the new image entrypoint, public-key mount, and health probes described in the deployment guide. Issues: SEAT-1288, SEAT-1423.
Fixed
- Clearing the selected general-admission area removes its selection bullet immediately while keeping the cart unchanged. This release covers the bullet behavior. Issue: SEAT-1093.
- Renderer metadata methods return the configured row and seat labels. Issue: SEAT-1246.
- General-admission titles render when the chart has no SVG underlay. Issue: SEAT-1253.
- Constrained WebGL devices use the preview when a raster background has no detail tiles, avoiding a full-image detail decode. Tiled backgrounds retain zoom detail. Issue: SEAT-1220.
- API-created charts without a baked background export row labels for straight, untransformed sections. Existing baked labels are retained. Issue: SEAT-1236.
- Rendering waits until a zero-size canvas has measurable dimensions. Issue: SEAT-1237.
- Hold Alt to pause outlines; releasing Alt, leaving the window, or changing tools or layers restores them. Issue: SEAT-1144.
- The editor field Event Title is now Chart name. Issue: SEAT-1193.
- Organization administrators can change a user’s role. Issue: SEAT-1240.
- SSO sign-in selects the requested organization consistently. Issue: SEAT-1256.
- Converting a general-admission area to artwork removes its detached section and prices when permitted by inventory rules; other areas sharing the section keep it. Issue: SEAT-1263.
- Archived events are omitted from the editor’s event lists. Issue: SEAT-1331.
- The Objects tab delete icon removes the general-admission area beside it and applies the sold-seat check. Issue: SEAT-1358.
- Schema previews retain the latest saved map when image jobs overlap; an older render cannot replace a newer preview. Issue: SEAT-1386.
- Section title sizes extend to 10 and survive saving and reloading. Issues: SEAT-1332, SEAT-1333.
- SVG import displays its size limit before file selection and reports the selected file size when the limit is exceeded. Issue: SEAT-1334.
- Custom section outline styles are retained, including fill, stroke, width, dash, and opacity. A new section’s outline is resolved correctly on its first save. Issues: SEAT-1337, SEAT-1338.
- The first venue shape change enables Save, and undoing back to the saved state clears the unsaved marker. Issue: SEAT-1340.
- The first edit after loading, saving, or publishing can be undone. Failed publication keeps the undo history. Issues: SEAT-1341, SEAT-1347.
- Undo removes newly drawn shapes and restores label-size bounds. Previously saved label bounds are corrected by the next shape edit and save. Issues: SEAT-1344, SEAT-1354.
- Undo and redo retain document changes without replaying spinners, dialogs, or a completed priced-seat deletion confirmation. Issue: SEAT-1349.
- Delete acts on the selection at keypress and cancels a pending deletion if selection or undo state changes. Issue: SEAT-1350.
- General-admission and table label handles follow the pointer after zoom, rotation, and resizing. Issue: SEAT-1351.
- The toolbar scrolls horizontally with Save visible, and compact mode follows the available space while preserving a manual override. Issues: SEAT-1345, SEAT-1346.
- Compact toolbar pointer positions and Inspector placement are corrected. Automatic view bounds include outlines and row labels, including embedded editors with hidden navigation. Saved charts receive updated bounds on their next save. Issue: SEAT-1356.
- Faded and overlapping seats render without duplicate edges or stray hover rims. Issue: SEAT-1357.
- Seat numbers remain readable in Pricing and Pricing Zones, and price or zone edits update their colors immediately. Hidden seats and duplicate-seat warnings retain their expected appearance. Issues: SEAT-1359, SEAT-1362.
- Seat edges remain crisp at their rendered size, and shadows adjust with zoom. Issues: SEAT-1363, SEAT-1364.
- All canvas layers stay aligned while panning and zooming on high-DPI screens; backgrounds sharpen after movement settles. Issue: SEAT-1365.
- A failed initial save can be retried after undo or redo without creating a duplicate chart; confirmed priced-seat deletions remain part of the retry. Issue: SEAT-1368.
- Row hover applies only to the active section during seat editing. Issue: SEAT-1371.
- Saving a large chart preserves edits made during the save and cannot update a different chart opened afterward. Venue shape edits notify the embedding host that the chart is dirty. Issue: SEAT-1376.
- CLI
--replaceremoves an existing SVG underlay when the replacement spec supplies none; JSON output confirms the removal. Issue: SEAT-1379. - Deleting sections, tables, or general-admission areas checks priced inventory from both list and canvas actions. Organization rules also apply when reducing table capacity. Issue: SEAT-1380.
- A section’s row label alignment, rotation, curve, stretch, or venue shape is saved when you change it back to its earlier value after a save. Issue: SEAT-1389.
- Venues copied from the Venues Library keep each section’s title size, outline style, and SVG outline path. Venues copied earlier are not updated; set these values on their sections in the editor. Issue: SEAT-1390.
- A direct sale through the Booking API records the sale even when it leaves a single unsold seat between taken ones. Orphan seat prevention applies to
lockandsale. Issue: SEAT-1398. - Editor-service starts and uses its settings exactly as written when they contain an apostrophe, such as an organization named Children’s Theatre. The Helm chart stores the secret values it is given as written, including apostrophes, quotes, and
#. Issue: SEAT-1420. - With no mail connection security set, the editor chooses it from the mail port: implicit TLS on port 465 and STARTTLS on any other port. Without a mail host or sender address, the editor logs a warning at startup, and the password reset page tells the user that reset by email is not set up and to contact their administrator. Issue: SEAT-1421.
- The editor draws a chart’s bitmap background with the default routes of the Helm chart and the Docker Compose bundle, which send
/mediaon the editor host to editor-service. Issue: SEAT-1422. - Register User on an organization’s Users tab adds the new user to that organization, and Add User on the User Management page adds them to the selected organization. Neither dialog asks for a role; change it afterwards in the Role column of the organization’s Users tab. Both dialogs require a password of at least six characters and at most 72 bytes and refuse an email that already belongs to an account, in any letter case. Assign User gives such an account access when it already belongs to an organization you manage, or when you are a global administrator. Create Organization checks the administrator details the same way and makes an existing account the administrator only when you can manage that account. Issue: SEAT-1424.
- The editor accepts email addresses with a top-level domain of up to 63 letters, such as boss@acme.photography, an internationalized
xn--domain, or characters such as an apostrophe before the @. When Register User or Add User refuses a request, the editor names the field and the reason, or says that you may not manage users in the organization. A name with a character the editor cannot store is refused this way instead of being reported as an existing email. When Create Organization makes an existing account the administrator, the dialog andseatmap orgs createsay so and show no password, because the account keeps its own. Issue: SEAT-1431. - After a long editing session, links on a venue’s schema list respond and Back does not freeze the page; the unsaved-changes prompt still appears when you leave a schema with unsaved edits. The prompt also appears on Back after creating a schema or opening an event preview, and an admin-only page opened without admin access returns to the venue list. Issue: SEAT-1425.
- Backend and renderer dependencies have been updated. Issues: SEAT-1259, SEAT-1343.
- Editor-service and converter startup logs identify the configured S3 public base URL and its source. Issue: SEAT-1106.
Performance
- Large selections remain responsive while editing. Issue: SEAT-1355.
- Cached GPU buffers and fewer rendering passes reduce work during panning and zooming, including high-DPI displays. Rendering recovers after a graphics context reset. Issues: SEAT-1360, SEAT-1361.
- Seat numbers remain visible while panning; newly visible labels appear after movement settles. Issue: SEAT-1373.
Upgrade
Self-hosted operators must apply migrations V121–V127 through editor-service before starting the new booking-service. Review confirmed booking references before V122, retain the configured signing keys, and update the editor frontend runtime and probes. Set the editor mail host and sender address, make sure /media on the editor host reaches editor-service, and write each apostrophe in editor settings once, since a doubled one now stays doubled. Super-admin and global-admin accounts sign in again after the upgrade. See the deployment guide for the order, checks, and settings.
